The Golden Rule
By Melissa Tapp
One day at
work, my boss chose some people to work together on some of the machines. She put me to work with a woman who nobody
can get along with. This women and I had to fold a lot of cards for the other machines. She knew a lot about the
machines and how to work them really fast. While we were working, what did she decide to do? You guessed
it. She started going really fast. I had a hard time keeping up with her. I was getting behind on labels and putting
them on the skid. She wouldn't slow down. I wanted to tell her off. I was so mad, but something kept
telling me to keep my mouth shut. Everyone felt sorry for me. At last, we were folding thank you cards.
A little later she gave me one of those cards with a little note in inside saying, Thank you for being a good friend to me.
I was shocked. I felt guilty thinking bad thoughts about her. She said I was the only one who listened to her
and talked to her. I was glad to keep my mouth shut and show her how God loves her.
Matthew 7:12 says "Do unto others what you would have them do to you."
