Keep on Praying
BY MELISSA TAPP
I was sitting at work one day chatting with
a co-worker. We were discussing our lives and events that had happened in the past. She explained to me that she was a former
drug addict. She continued to tell me that her addiction was so bad that she lost some of her hair due to the drugs. She explained
that she went to rehab and was free from drugs now and had tried her best to turn her life around. During her stay at rehab
she accepted Christ into her life and became saved
A few weeks later were in the break room talking again but this time she looked upset about something. I asked if she
was okay. She said that she wanted to quit praying because she wasn't getting any answers from God. I immediately felt
God telling me to write her a letter. I was afraid to at first and I guess a little embarrassed but wrote her a letter and
tried to answer her questions. I was so nervous when I handed it to her, and felt silly just standing in front of her as she
read it. The letter explained that everything happens for a reason and how God will never ignore one of his children.
I also wrote that when we pray to God for something that we then must take time out and focus on his answer. We may
not get an answer to our prayers when we want it but we will always get an answer in God’s timing
When she finished reading my letter, she said, "Melissa,” I looked at her with a smile, I thought, Oh no,
what is she going to say. "Thank you. You really are something." It made me feel good knowing I
did what God told me to do and by doing so I helped a friend in need.
