My Trip To Seaworld
BY STACY BOOK
So God created the creatures
of the sea.......and every living and moving thing.......and saw that it was good. Genesis 1:21
Anyone
who knows me very well knows that I love killer whales. I have whale figurines everywhere in my house.
I have stuffed whales on my bed. My bathroom is nothing but whales. And, of course,
Free Willy is a favorite movie.
It's very hard to find killer whales at stores.
You find lots of dolphins, but not whales. But there is one place you can go and find all the whales
you want- and that is Sea World. I got to go there for the first time with my family this summer, June
of 2008. My husband and 2 boys, (my boys invited a friend), my sister and brother-in-law, my nephew, and
the two that made this trip possible that I thank very much, are my father and mother-in-law. There were
11 of us. We went to Disney World and the last day of the trip we went to Sea World. I
couldn't wait to get there. I was going to get to see a real, live killer whale. It
was so exciting- whales everywhere a lot of shops and best of all- The Shamu Show.
Before the show, I went to the underwater viewing and got to see them swim around. I didn't
think they were ever going to come out, but they finally did. I guess they knew I was
waiting patiently and didn't want to disappoint me.
We went in about 45 minutes before the show
started. I got to watch them swim around. I could have watched them all day.
The show got started and I had my camera ready. I am not a very technical person. My
camera has a lot of stuff on it that I haven't figured out yet. One thing I don't like is when
I take a picture, there is a delay. I want it to take as soon as I push the button-especially that day-
because when the whales start jumping out of the water, it needs to take as soon as I push it, or I'll miss it.
When I clicked it on video and snapped it, I noticed it didn't delay. I thought maybe I could
still print those out using the video button. So while I am waiting for the show to start, I'm trying
to decide if I should take the pictures on auto or video.
So the show starts and I'm ready to watch
and be amazed and try to take pictures at the same time. While the show is going on, I'm going back
and forth from auto to video trying to get good pictures. I didn't really didn't know if I was
getting good ones or not. I was getting frustrated- but trying to enjoy the show- and I did- it was GREAT!
I loved it!
On the way home, I was messing with my camera-trying to figure out how everything
worked. I had plenty of time to do it- it was a long way home. As I was looking at it,
I figured out how to play the video. That made me mad because I thought I could have taped the whole show
and saved $20.00 on my DVD I bought of the show. I thought I could have taped it all and still have some
pictures too because I took some before the show started and some at the underwater viewing.
So anyway,
when I got home and went to print them out, I realized I couldn't print the ones I used with the video button.
But to my amazement, the ones I took on auto were the ones I really wanted- the ones I took on video weren't as
good. I also figured out when you watch a video on the camera, the sound is not very clear or loud.
It all worked out perfectly. I got the pictures I wanted and got a video of the show that was much
better on DVD.
God made sure everything turned out just right. He cares enough about you even if it's something silly or something
that doesn't seen that important.
Psalm 37:23 says in the Living Bible- The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
