Righteous Tunes
By Stacy Book
Music was created by God and can be returned to Him in praise. Does the music you play or listen
to have a negative or positive impact upon your relationship with God?
My husband recently found a station on the
radio on his way home from work. It's called K-love. I heard it sometime before
then in Lexington while we were moving my
son to college. Now I can listen to it here. It's a great station. Like
K-love says, "It's positive and encouraging." I would like everyone to hear about this and
be encouraged by it also. It has changed so many lives. I keep it on all through the
day. It's another way to help me grow closer to God. I thank God for all the different
ways he draws people to him and I'm thankful for the freedom we have here in America to have all these opportunities to share God's love. We take so much for
granted.
Ephesians 5:19 says, Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.
Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16 says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
James 5:13 says, Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him
sing songs of praise.
