DON’T GIVE UP!!
By Stacy Book
How many times have you heard someone say, “Don’t give
up, keep trying, you can do it or keep moving?” We have all heard it, we have all said it. These phrases become more
and more meaningful to me the older I get. I’ve given up on many things in my life, people, projects and goals. In fact,
I started to give up on this website. It seemed like we were getting little response and that God was not answering our prayers.
But I knew in the back of my mind God wanted us to start this website and that He had plans for it. I know He helped me write
these stories because I can’t write them on my own. He has shown me what events to write about and how they connect
with certain verses. Through prayer He has shown me stories and events to write about. I have felt his presence with every
story. I have asked myself “How could God be finished with it?” The Bible tells me that He is not .
Hebrews 10:35-36 says, “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be greatly rewarded. You need to persevere
so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
So I
started praying harder. “God, show us how to present this website in a way that brings people to know you.” After
much praying, He started showing us new things each day.
I know He is working. He’s always
working. We may not always see results right away and as humans we can be impatient. We want things right now, but we have
to be patient and let God work in His ways and in His time, not ours.
James 1:4 says, “Perseverance
must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
So if
you’re about to give up on something or someone right now, stop, pray and let God show you what to do. DON’T GIVE
UP! You never know, He may be getting ready to do and if you give up, you will never see the results.
I
get tired and frustrated at times and wonder if it’s even worth it. But I have to keep moving and have NOT GIVEN UP.
One of my favorite verses is Galatians 6:9. “It says, Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
